Check in

The hours were logged. Nobody can say whether the punch happened at the site. Check-in records that someone started and finished at a site. It is included with Timesheets.

An example. Check-out becomes a timesheet. The site comes from today's working pattern or a published shift.

What you can do

Check-in is included with Timesheets. There is no selfie and there are no breaks. Check-in alone does not create a timesheet. Check-out does. The entry runs from check-in to check-out, category "Check-in", description "Checked in at {site}". If either punch was outside the circle, the timesheet is marked "Outside site".

Managers review flagged punches on Timesheets, under My team's timesheets, in "Check-ins outside the site". View location shows check-in, check-out, and the site circle. Admins see every flagged punch in the organisation on Admin → Timesheets. Inside punches only show up as a normal timesheet after check-out.

A manager's Timesheets page has two tabs: My timesheets, and My team's timesheets for their direct reports. People who are not managers do not see the team tab.

Set the site once

An admin turns on "Enable check-in area" for a location, places a pin from the address, and sets a radius from 25 to 5,000 metres. The default is 100 metres.

Check in where you are assigned today

Open Check in. A site appears when today's working pattern assigns them there, or when they have a published shift there today. If more than one site qualifies, they choose. The browser must be allowed to use location. The coordinates are stored so a manager can review the punch.

Outside the site is allowed

A punch outside the circle is still accepted. It is flagged for review. Check-in is not proof that someone was at the site. A manager can see where it happened.

Questions teams ask

Does check-in stop someone who is outside the site?

No. The punch is saved and flagged.

When does it become a timesheet?

On check-out, not on check-in.

Who can see the location?

A manager for their team, and an admin for the organisation. The employee is told the location is stored.
